INVITE-ONLY BETA
Your closet.
Your privacy.
Updated October 28, 2026
The Collector Closet is an invite-only movie and music catalog run by Harris. This notice explains how the beta handles your information.
What we keep
Your account email, first name, collection preferences, saved movies and albums, wanted lists, watched or played status, notes, barcode matches, scan queues, public closet designs, reactions you choose to leave, and photos you save. We use these to run your closet, provide search and scanning, and manage account access.
Who can access it
Your closet is private by default. If you publish a public closet, anyone with its link can browse the collections and items you include. Your photos are shared only if you enable that option. You can disable sharing to stop future access, although copies already downloaded by visitors cannot be recalled. Harris administers the service and has technical access to stored data for support, maintenance, and security; this is not end-to-end encrypted storage.
Services that help run the app
Supabase handles sign-in, collection records, and private photo storage. Vercel hosts the website. Resend delivers invitation and password-reset emails. These services process information needed for those functions, including technical request and delivery logs.
Movie and barcode searches use TMDB and UPCitemdb. Album, artist, barcode, and tracklist searches use MusicBrainz; album artwork comes from Cover Art Archive. Search terms, barcodes, or release identifiers are sent as needed for lookups. Loading external artwork can share your IP address and browser request information with the image host.
Public reactions
Signed-in collectors can add or remove reactions when the closet owner enables them. We store the reacting account, item, reaction type, and time. Visitors see totals; we do not display a public list of who reacted. Comments are not available.
Camera and browser storage
Camera access needs your permission. Barcode reading and photo framing run in your browser; photos are uploaded when you save them. The app uses cookies for sign-in and browser storage for preferences and scan-session state.
Keeping and removing your data
Your saved collection stays in your account until you remove items or request account deletion. Removing a physical copy is permanent; associated photos are cleaned up when no longer referenced. Disabling account access does not delete its collection.
For account deletion, email the address below from your account email. We may need to verify the request. Service logs and any existing backup copies may remain until their retention periods end.
A note about this beta
Invited collectors are not currently covered by our backup process for records or photos. Recovery after loss or accidental deletion is not guaranteed. Please keep your original photos and any records you cannot replace.
